I'm Bill Mauzy (on the right), and you may email me directly at bill@mauzyconstruction.com.

I've been a Sewanee resident since 1973 (having graduating from The University of the South in 1972) and a Sewanee business owner since 1976. My wife, Carrie, is also a graduate of The University of the South (Class of 1980), and together we have four children. Joshua (30) lives in Sewanee and has worked for me since 2000. An experienced carpenter, with an eye for detail, Josh spends most of his free time working on his own home as he prepares to expand his family. Matthew lives in Chapel Hill, North Carolina and works for the University of North Carolina as a UNIX Systems Admin for the College of Arts and Sciences. In addition to being a volunteer firefighter he's also Chief of South Orange Rescue Squad and a certified instructor in swiftwater and rope rescue. Jane (23) is the third Sewanee graduate in the family (Class of 2005). She is currently living in Birmingham, Alabama, where she works for LAH Real Estate, Inc. Recently she began preparing for the LSATs, with hopes of being in law school by the fall of 2008. Hampton (17) is a senior at St. Andrew's-Sewanee School. At 6'8'', he's the family giant and is currently looking at several liberal arts colleges in the Virgina/Carolina area for enrollment next fall.

As a firm believer in giving back to one's community, I've been an active volunteer in Sewanee for quite some time. I've headed the Sewanee Community Chest drive, served on the Vestry of Otey Memorial Parish twice, served on the Board of the Sewanee Civic Association, been a member of the Parent's Council at St. Andrew's-Sewanee (SAS), headed the Mountain Lion Club at SAS for over eight years, and I'm currently on the Housing Sewanee Board of Directors. For the past twelve years I've been a staff member on the All Saint's Chapel outreach mission trip to Kingston, Jamaica (www.sewanee.edu/outreach/outreachtrips ). This year I will also help staff a similar outreach trip to Costa Rica.

When I'm not working or volunteering, I enjoy spending time in my workshop, where I make decorative wooden bowls and have even begun experimenting with some mild furniture making. Bike riding with friends and spending time with my family are also things I enjoy doing during my spare time. When basketball season rolls around you can usually find me manning the concession stand at both the Sewanee games (concessions are our main fundraiser for outreach trips) and SAS games. When the weather finally warms up I'm usually outside as much as possible, either working around the yard, in the garden, or busy watching a close soccer or tennis match in town.
